Creates a link to an existing content page,.
Content pages can be linked multiple times, to maximise the number of routes to the page. For example, a content page organised within top row menu might also need to be referenced in footer menu. This is achieved by using a link.
Create Link
Websites > Your Site
- Click the create new page icon above the content page navigation
- Choose link from the three types
- Enter link menu title.
- Enter link url:
- For a link to an existing page type the url of the page e.g. about
- For a link to an external webpage, type the full url e.g. http://icentric.co.uk
- Choose target type:
- _self - the default, link opens in the same tab (or frame) as the link is
- _blank - link opens in a new tab or window
- _top - link opens in the full body of the window, less commonly used
- _parent - link opens in the parent frame, less commonly used
- Set a start date and/or end date if the link is time sensitive
- Choose a summary image from the file picker. This will be used to represent the link within the page as your project defines
- Set a summary title which is often the same as the menu title but can be different if necessary
- Set a summary description often used on projects to quickly introduce the page, with relation to the content it is placed against.
- Set categories for the link as required
- Click save link to save
Publish Link
Websites > Your Site
- Click view all pages spyglass above the content page navigation
- Click on the link you wish to publish
- Click publish button on the end of the row
- Click submit to publish the link immediately, or use the time and date settings to schedule
- Click and drag to organise. Click save at the top of the content page navigation to save the order
Rename Link
Websites > Your Site
- In the content page navigation, click on the link you wish to rename
- Click the edit button against the currently published version of the link
- Edit the menu title and the summary title of the link
- Click save link
- Follow steps to publish link
Disable Link
Websites > Your Site
- In the content page navigation, click on the link you wish to disable
- Click the disable button against the currently published version of the link
- Click confirm to immediately disable the link, or add a date to schedule
