Creates a link to an existing content page,.

Content pages can be linked multiple times, to maximise the number of routes to the page. For example, a content page organised within top row menu might also need to be referenced in footer menu. This is achieved by using a link.

  1. Create link
  2. Publish link
  3. Rename link
  4. Disable link

Create Link

Websites > Your Site

  1. Click the create new page icon above the content page navigation
  2. Choose link from the three types
  3. Enter link menu title.
  4. Enter link url:
    1. For a link to an existing page type the url of the page e.g. about
    2. For a link to an external webpage, type the full url e.g. http://icentric.co.uk
  5. Choose target type:
    1. _self - the default, link opens in the same tab (or frame) as the link is
    2. _blank - link opens in a new tab or window
    3. _top - link opens in the full body of the window, less commonly used
    4. _parent - link opens in the parent frame, less commonly used
  6. Set a start date and/or end date if the link is time sensitive
  7. Choose a summary image from the file picker. This will be used to represent the link within the page as your project defines
  8. Set a summary title which is often the same as the menu title but can be different if necessary
  9. Set a summary description often used on projects to quickly introduce the page, with relation to the content it is placed against.
  10. Set categories for the link as required
  11. Click save link to save

Publish Link

Websites > Your Site

  1. Click view all pages spyglass above the content page navigation
  2. Click on the link you wish to publish
  3. Click publish button on the end of the row
  4. Click submit to publish the link immediately, or use the time and date settings to schedule
  5. Click and drag to organise. Click save at the top of the content page navigation to save the order

Rename Link

Websites > Your Site

  1. In the content page navigation, click on the link you wish to rename
  2. Click the edit button against the currently published version of the link
  3. Edit the menu title and the summary title of the link
  4. Click save link
  5. Follow steps to publish link

Disable Link

Websites > Your Site

  1. In the content page navigation, click on the link you wish to disable
  2. Click the disable button against the currently published version of the link
  3. Click confirm to immediately disable the link, or add a date to schedule
