Shipping Manager
eCommerce > Shipping Manager
Shipping Manager allows multiple shipping options to be created and then assigned to products.
There are three steps in the process: methods, zones and bands.
Create Shipping Methods
eCommerce > Shipping Manager > Methods
Methods may include, for example, Next Day, 3 Days, 7 Days.
- Provide a name for the method and a description.
- Set the number of days:
- 0 = same day,
- 1 = next day.
- Check the include weekends box if deliveries occur on weekends.
Create Shipping Zones
eCommerce > Shipping Manager > Zones
Zones are geographic locations that can be group, with a single delivery cost.
Zones may include, for example, EU (all member states need to be selected), Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Finland).
Create Shipping Bands
eCommerce > Shipping Manager > Bands
Bands are groups of combinations of shipping zones and shipping methods, each with an associated price.
For example a band could be created for UK parcel delivery, comprising the following combinations:
Zone | Method | Price (ex Tax) |
---|---|---|
UK | Next Day | £5.00 |
UK | 3 Days | £0.00 |
UK | Next Day Weekend | £15.00 |
EU | 3 Days | £25.00 |
Eastern Europe | 3 Days | £30.00 |
Assigning to Products
Once shipping bands have been created, each product can be assigned to a band.
When editing a product variant use the shipping dropdown list.
When a purchase is made, the checkout summary will show the the product and the shipping band options available to use, where a country in the zone matches the country of the shipping address.
By default, if there is more than one option available to a customer, the lowest price option will be displayed, and the customer can upgrade to a more expensive service with a dropdown.
